“riotously entertaining” Erika Joins Catherine and Friends Global live-streaming eveNt

On Thursday 12th August, Erika joined the cast of “Catherine and Friends” the new viral sensation global live streaming event from The Concourse Theatre. Joining special guests Tom Sharrah, Matt Evans, and Aussie drag royalty Verushka Darling along with a brilliant band led by Michael Tyack on keys, Tina Harris on bass and Emma Ford on drums the night was a welcome musical escape during lockdown. The show debuted online in July to rave reviews. Described by the Sydney Morning Herald as “riotously entertaining” it has captured the hearts of fans globally.

Catherine & Friends is presented as part of the 2021 Melbourne Digital Concert Hall (MDCH) series. Born in the middle of Australia’s Covid pandemic in 2020 and at a time when the Australian Arts and entertainment completely shut down, the MDCH presented over 233 digital concerts raising over $1.4 million in support of Australian musicians and the arts sec- tor. Now, as NSW finds itself in what is predicted to be a long lockdown period, MDCH brings their digital live-streaming platform to Sydney. 100% of tickets sales goes directly to the artists, supporting them in their greatest time of need. Melbourne Digital Concert Hall (MDCH) was created by musicians, for musicians, connecting Australian artists and communities everywhere through music and technology.

Here's a live snap from Erika’s performance on Catherine and Friends online. “It was a real thrill to get back into the theatre to perform during lockdown. It’s impossible to shift the feeling of uneasiness that comes from singing in a theatre that’s empty of the energy and thrill of a live audience. But it’s brilliant to see what people like Catherine Alcorn and Melbourne Digital have done to keep the heart pumping and the blood flowing through the veins of the Arts right now.”
